Welcome to Lanternlit Design, based in the beautiful county of Northumberland, England.  Lanternlit Design specialises in handcrafted items inspired by elements of Landscape, Architecture and Nature.  Lynne Dean works in ceramics and textiles.

Lynne works within the technique of slip-cast ware. Using bone-china and porcelain she exploits their qualities to enhance her individual designs. After working her designs she then creates a mold into which the slip is poured. After a few minutes the molds are drained and the pieces are soon ready to turn out. At this stage any decoration is added to the piece. All decoration is hand worked so each piece remains unique. The pieces are bisk fired to 1000°C and high-fired to 1260°C. All work bears the characteristic mark of the studio.
